Methane Adsorption on Microporous Carbon Adsorbent Prepared from Thermochemically Activated Wood

Abstract— An EC-103 microporous carbon adsorbent was synthesized from wood using thermochemically activation with Н 3 РО 4 as an activating agent. Methane adsorption on the studied within temperature range 303 to 333 K and at pressures up 40 MPa. The total volume of sorbing pores 1.71 cm /g. maximum values methane were obtained pressure differential molar isosteric heat 14.5 mmol/g (23.2 wt %) average 12−14 kJ/mol. calculated based Dubinin theory filling micropores (TVFM). It shown that Dubinin-Radushkevich equation basic TVFM pattern provided best description experimental data use only standard structural energy characteristics adsorbent.
